Another 50 degree day when I’m off work meant having a babysitter come out for a couple of hours while I cut wood. This time I picked a tree behind the house that fell in the July storm.
It was pretty much the same situation as last week. Before I could do any real cutting I had to spend 45 minutes cutting through bush honeysuckle. I like to keep my work area free of brush, because I am walking around with a running chainsaw, and since there was no place to pile brush in the woods, I had to drag it all about 30 feet up a small hill into the field.
Just about the time I got a real good path clear, the chainsaw ran out of gas and the babysitters time was about up, too.
I know the picture above might not look like much, but the clear space was all impenetrable bush honeysuckle.
