Rough year for the Apple trees

In three weeks, both of my apple trees…

It’s kind of sad, but they were never planted in the best spot to start with, and at least we can use the wood in the smoker. I’ll plant some again in a couple of years when the kids get bigger, and I’ll plant them in a better spot.

  1. Is it a dwarf variety? They have a tendency to fall down because of small roots. I see a lot of them propped up with 2″ x 4″s. I want to put a dwarf tree of some sort in the new perennial garden but I’m not sure how I want to deal with it. I thought about grafting a dwarf tree onto old root stock. Sorry about your tree. Sad and disappointing.

    1. I can’t remember if they were semi-dwarves or not, it’s been so long since I planted them and I didn’t know anything about fruit trees when I bought them. About three of four weeks ago we had 7 inches of rain in three days followed by winds up to 60mph. So far, we’ve had six downed trees since them
