Lets see here…it looks like it’s almost been a month since I posted. While I’ve been gone….Piper got an ear infection and then an allergic reaction to the amoxicillian they prescribed her. After a week without the rash going away, I took her back to the doctor and they said she had eczema. After almost a month, I think the rash is almost gone. She quit sleeping through the night and would often been up 3 or 4 times. The last three out of four nights, she’s slept from about 10 p.m. – 5 a.m., so that has been a relief.
I started some spinach and radishes, but the cold snap got them. So I’ve replanted and have spinach coming up again. I’m really not sure how my fruit trees fared, my cherry trees were in full bloom and the peach in half bloom when we got the four day stretch of freezing weather. The apple trees have not bloomed yet.
Chris is on vacation this week so I had a chance to sit down and use my sewing machine. I’ve been wanting to make some hot pads for bowls that can be used in the microwave. Chris’s cousin Sheila makes them, and I thought they would make great Christmas gifts for the family. I got one done, and then the sewing machine jammed up again, and is absolutely useless again. But the one I made is great!
Chris is on vacation this week, so we finally got to leave the kids with a babysitter and try out the new steakhouse, Chopped, in Jerseyville for lunch after church today. I had the shrimp hoagie and Chris had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, and we both agreed we will have to try out the dinner menu soon. Afterwards, we went to Wal-Mart and did boring married people stuff, like look for a new vacuum cleaner and a new sewing machine to purchase as soon as we get our tax money back.
Thanks for keeping up! I’ll try not to make it a month before I post again!
