How my 2016 goals fared

Christmas haul.  Hoping I can get through them all in 2017.

I’m not a big resolution maker, but that’s not to say I don’t try to make a few goals when the new year rolls around. My big goals last year were to compete in a timed 5k run and finish in under 40 minutes, and, don’t laugh, actually complete a book again.

The 5k goal started well. I signed up for the training class at the Wellness Center, and even ran a practice run in 39:40. But race week I got bronchitis. So I can count that as sort of accomplished, I think.

Reading books went better. I finished Humans of New York: Stories

The Final Frontiersman, a book about the life of Heimo Korthe, who is featured on the Discovery Show “The Last Alaskans”

And, I finished “The Witwer Files”, which is a true story of a lawless Hillview in the early 1900’s.  Hillview is in Greene County, which is directly north of us.
